Algona Municipal Utilities seeks a qualified candidate for the Power Plant Operator position. The candidate must be able to perform or demonstrate the ability to quickly learn any and all work functions normally associated with, but not limited to, the operation of the electric generation system that includes operating diesel generators, auxiliary power switchgear, feeder switchgear, transmission lines, and power plant auxiliary machinery such as air compressors, pumps, fans, the SCADA system, and other related equipment. Applicants must reside in the Algona Municipal Utilities service territory or other location as approved by the General Manager. A candidate must have a high school diploma or equivalent education.
