Description

The Production Manager is accountable for the Safety of our team and producing our products in the most efficient way possible adhering to the highest standards of Food quality. The Production Manager must be able to abide by PURIS’ SOPs, SSOPs, and Quality Standards always. Summary of Essential Job Functions:

  • Accountable for Plant Efficient Production Output in a Safe People and Safe Food Environment reporting directly to the Plant Manager
  • Capable of utilizing Lean Principles to ensure efficient use of all resources of Manufacturing.
  • Responsible for the Organization of > 30 Team Members of Front-Line Managers and Technicians
  • Responsible for Developing annual, monthly, and weekly production plans to align with the Business needs
  • Provide Safety Leadership on the Floor in every activity – by training and example
  • Participate in the Development of Improvement plans for Process efficiency and new product growth
  • LMAD Production Operations; Lead, Manage, Hold Accountable and Develop the Team to align with Performance improvement growth.
  • Manage coordination of weekly activities of the Maintenance Team with production, and resolve scheduling conflicts
  • Accountable to develop and manage a Staffing Plan to support 24/7 Operations
  • Accountability Responsible for Managing the Standard Work Documentation and Training Systems
  • Lead and Manage period Process CIP (Clean IPlace) events
  • Provides input to Engineering Team on planned project work and provides voice of production team to all strategic plant management activities that impact production
  • With 24 hour operations, must be available to occasionally spend some time on other than regular shifts such as off shifts and weekends.
  • Perform other tasks and projects as assigned
Requirements

Education and Experience:

  • Engineering or Technical/Vocational Degree with demonstrable technical and analytical capability
  • 5+ Years of Process plant experience in a production environment (manager, in-plant engineer or senior level shift lead are ideal)
  • Experience with operations safety leadership required
  • Demonstrable experience in process improvement projects and methodology
  • Practical experience with food or similar plant operations, food safety requirements, wet and dry process CIP a Plus but not required
  • Prefer experience with 24/7 operation
  • Demonstrated Strong Problem-solving skills: (A3, Six Sigma, Kaizen etc.…)
  • Experience in Lean Manufacturing a Plus but not required

Skills and Capabilities:

  • Competent verbal and written communicator; Capability of Speaking to a Group of People
  • Good judgement showing business acumen, decision making skills, intellectual and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to handle multiple initiatives at one time

The Maintenance Mechanic position is responsible for performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, electronic equipment. All while maintaining production and facility equipment according to safety, predictive and productive maintenance systems and processes to support the achievement of the site’s business goals and objectives. The Maintenance Mechanic understands and executes safe working practices including the usage of proper PPE.

Summary of Essential Job Functions:

  • Perform highly diversified duties to install and maintain production machines and the plant facility’s equipment.
  • Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.
  • Observes all OSHA and facility safety rules and regulations including the use of personal protective equipment.
  • Follows all established Good Manufacturing Practices; including an orderly and clean work area.
  • Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and performs scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service.
  • Perform mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting, welding, cutting, soldering, pipe fitting, insulating, carpentry, installing, repair of production machines and repair building issues.
  • Position may require regular standing, reaching, bending and continuous motion.
  • Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
  • Discuss work orders, equipment malfunctions and job task coordination with co-workers.
  • Reports all downtime
  • Assess whether designs meet technical specifications, performance requirements and regulations.
  • Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments.
  • Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment and plant facilities.
  • Detect faulty operations, defective material and report those and any unusual situations to proper supervision.
  • Ability to utilize powered industrial equipment; to include forklifts, boom lifts and scissor lifts.
  • Responsible for 24-hour emergency maintenance service as scheduled.
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements

Education, Experience & Capabilities:

  • High School diploma or GED required. Technical School graduate preferred
  • Must be able to read, write and speak English
  • A high degree of judgment is required for this position
  • Knowledge of power and hand tools
  • 7+ years of manufacturing experience preferred; strong pneumatic, mechanical and industrial skills with PLC experience is a plus
  • Experience with grain handling / processing equipment
  • Experience with maintenance type welding activities and air compressors
  • Experience with rigging equipment to pick and place machinery and parts, fit bearings, align gears and shafts, attach and align motors, connect coupling and belts
  • Experience performing predictive and operation maintenance using laser alignment tooling, service and repair hydraulic and pneumatic equipment
  • Must have general mechanical knowledge and electrical knowledge
  • Software and PLC experience is helpful
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds
  • Must be able to communicate in a professional manner with all employee levels at the plant as mechanics may perform training for newly acquired equipment

As a Production Technician at PURIS, you play a key role to ensure the plant has a 90% up time while completing your daily duties in plant operations & food safety. To ensure product quality, a clean work environment must be maintained and Technicians are responsible to abide by Quality Standards at all times. Summary of Essential Job Functions

  • Responsible for monitoring and operating plant equipment, controlling product flow to ensure the process is operating at peak performance; take immediate corrective action for all problems
  • Responsible for performing routine and non-routine tasks in a safe manner, in addition to supporting and abiding by the safety culture
  • May work various duties for the receiving in of raw material loads into the facility
  • Fulfill required documentation and process check sheets on a regular basis
  • Operate packaging equipment and perform quality checks throughout the process
  • Work in loading various types of shipping containers
  • Responsible for keeping plant clean and neat
  • Assist with plant preventive maintenance and repairs
  • Perform other tasks and projects as required
Requirements

Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Mechanical aptitude preferred
  • Prior fork truck experience helpful
  • Knowledge of GMPs and Food Safety a plus
  • 1 year or more in a manufacturing environment or some type of agricultural experience preferred

Skills and Capabilities:

  • Willingness to learn new things and help others.
  • Writing and understanding written sentences, paragraphs, and directions in work related documents.
  • Be able to use effective time management skills and be able to prioritize tasks
  • Capable of physical labor
  • Capable of wearing PPE; including, but not limited to: hearing, eye, and hand protection

Additional Requirements:

  • Must be able to stand for 10+ hours of your shift.
  • Must be able to climb stairs several times throughout the course of your shift
  • Must be able to reach above your head on occasion
  • Must be able to work safely at heightened platforms on occasion
